SOIL TESTING FOR NEW BUILDS OR RENOVATIONS

Our laboratory is NATA accredited and qualified staff are Certified Professional Soil Scientists (CPSS) meaning we have a high-level professional competence in soil science and management, derived from a broad soil science knowledge base.

SITE CLASSIFICATION

A site classification by McMahon Earth Science provides a detailed soil analysis outlining the soil conditions and soil profiles of your site. Our report provides relevant information required by a qualified engineer to classify the soil and design the foundations of your house or extension.

A site classification is undertaken in accordance with Australian Standards AS2870- 2011 Residential slabs and footings; AS1726- 2017 for Geotechnical Investigations and is usually required to be submitted to council as part of the development approval process.

LAND CAPABILITY ASSESSMENT (SEPTIC)

Our Land Capability Assessment is conducted for new builds that are not serviced with mains septic system or extensions that require an upgrade of the wastewater system. The assessment can be conducted in conjunction with a site classification or on it’s own. Our report will provide information about the site as well as outline which onsite wastewater treatment system is most suited to the site, the sub-surface disposal method and the area required.
